The General Butler Shipwreck
Lake Champlain is teeming with wrecks. The General Butler is one of the most visited due it to laying in only 40 feet of water. All levels of divers can access this beauty of a ship. She was built in 1862 in Essex, New York and sank 14 years later on December 9, 1876.
Size of wreck: 88′ long, 14′ wide
